The vast majority of climbing hardwear comes under the European Personal Protective Equipment Directive. For example ropes, nuts, friends/cams, karabiners and helmets etc.
The manufacturers equipment and quality control processes are subject to intensive tests by a third party/independent body. On passing all the tests the individual piece of equipment will be allocated the CE mark.In order to meet the regulated standards for PPE, manufacturers generally work to the EN standards for mountaineering equipment. These are based on the UIAA standards, with many revisions and updates.
UIAA standards are still the international standard. Most countries outside of the EU specify that equipment must meet UIAA standards to be sold.
Climb Style only stock equipment that meet the required safety standards for sale in the European Union (EU)
